Community at your doorstep. |
Imagine having an impromptu glass of wine with neighbors to decompress after a long day at work... A neighbor dropping off a pot of her soup at your doorstep when she's heard from another neighbor that you're down with a cold... Stopping by the common house to mingle with neighbors over a delicious homemade meal, all prepared and ready when you arrive... |
Washington Commons is a collaborative endeavor ... |
to create a unique community of well-designed homes, just across the River from downtown Sacramento. Cohousing provides a perfect balance of privacy (in your own home) and community (at your doorstep). Each resident will own their own energy efficient homes, with access to a wealth of shared common amenities on site. We're at a crucial point on the cusp of moving forward with the design process. Learn more on Feb 20th or become an Explorer as we proceed to the next steps in plan approvals, expanding membership, construction financing and so on. Additionally, early members will have first pick of the housing units.

Cohousing gives residents a unique blend of community and privacy. Households have independent incomes and private lives, but neighbors collaboratively plan and manage community activities and shared spaces. Self-management empowers residents, builds community, and saves money. Cohousing provides support to families raising kids (built-in childcare and affordable community meals) and gifts older adults a supportive community setting (allowing for active aging).
