Cohousing in the Washington Neighborhood of West Sacramento
VISION:
Washington House is a warm, nurturing, secure home where residents feel they are “coming home” each time they enter - a place where all feel safe, supported, respected and loved. It magnifies the surrounding beauty of its neighborhood and community. It fosters both privacy and community, diversity and unity, joy and tranquility - a place where all its residents have freely chosen to live together, to share and revere their new home, where friends are cherished, guests are welcomed, and fulfillment comes naturally.
We will stake our claim in this historic district.
We will help spearhead its renewal and support its re-emergence.
We will welcome and be welcomed.
We will share our mutual resources and preserve our personal and communal integrity.
We will be a contribution to the City and the region.
We will demonstrate how to add the new without excluding the old.
We will cater to adults while welcoming children.
We will create a space where peace and contentment overshadow (but not eliminate) conflict and strife.
We will learn and grow while we give and receive.
We will thrive and help our neighborhood, city, region and society to thrive.
